Qualifications required:
A good degree in a relevant subject and have, or be very close to achieving, a professional qualification.
Experience required: The successful applicant will have experience of designing in reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel and of finite element analysis.
Experience of the design of offshore structures is desirable but not essential.
Concrete design:
Offshore ideal but not essential. Someone who has designed mast foundations, bridges & culverts, water retaining and other structures, etc. Worked in a consultancy environment (not a site manager / project manager). Needs a fluent English speaker. Outline of role Reporting to the team's Principal Engineer, the successful applicant will be part of a team working on the design of wind farm infrastructure across the UK and will: Oversee the production of design packages from concept through tender and detailed design, carry out detailed structural design and design checks and provide technical guidance to their team.
The successful candidate will also:
* Assist in the preparation of proposals / bid documentation to further develop our wind farm infrastructure business.
* Project manage small to medium sized projects.
* Be responsible for the financial performance of their projects.
* Help to develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.
* Develop a good working relationship with colleagues in other parts of Sweco.
